iOS 13 – What’s New?
Dark Mode & Sign-in
Dark Mode and “Sign-in with Apple” are the two big features to experience with iOS 13.
The dark mode is available for all native apps as well as third-party iPhone App Developers to integrate into their apps.
iPhone users can now use one-tap sign-in for apps with Apple ID that works similar to Facebook and Google sign-ins with Android. Putting privacy first, this update lets you hide your email address while sending mails. It creates a one-time email id that appears as the sender’s email in the recipient’s inbox.
Apps can now load 2X faster as compared to iOS 12 that already offers boosted performance. Expect iOS 13 to launch Face ID up to 30% faster.
Siri will now sound less like a machine after being optimized with neural text-to-speech technology. Users can now experience improved translation skills, massively enhanced useful suggestions, and added Siri shortcuts using which custom quick actions can be triggered using a specific phrase.
This has been implemented with iOS 12 & iOS takes it still further. Siri can now ask for follow- up questions if any extra information is needed while running a shortcut. Also, Siri’s ability to make suggestions is also improved. For instance, it can suggest specific shortcuts based on time and location.
Camera & Photos
iOS 13 has Portrait Lighting Mode, Automatic QR reading, new monochromic effect, new photo editing tools in the Photos app, such as ‘Vibrance’, ‘Noise Reduction’ and ‘Perspective Correction’. QR scanning has become automatic while photos can now be searched using multiple search terms at once.
Users can look up to places at ground level in 3D that is similar to Google Street View. Locations can be added to favorites and shared with friends while frequently visited locations can be saved i.e. Work, Home, etc to travel quicker.
Reminders, Messages & Memoji
iOS 13 has a redesigned Reminders App fledged with a completely new interface, support enhancements, ‘smart list’, and more. Messages are also improved. You get to access many new Animojis and loads of customization options for Memoji. Your iPhone can now automatically generate sticker packs featuring your Animoji and Memoji.
